First hospital experience in Canada

The subject of health in Quebec is good, when they take care of you and you have Maladi insurance.

The service system is not very good, it is similar to the insurance of the State of Peru that many of us know, the difference is that here it is bigger and you are not on the floor.

I will tell you about my experience in a children's hospital, an emergency experience, which in the end was not.

They called my husband from school to tell him that Lorena was in severe pain and that we should take her home or to a hospital, because they don't give you medicine at school, you should take her to your doctor. He picked her up and said that she was doubling over from the pain, for this she had already been complaining about the pain a few days before they came and went but we thought it was indigestion.

My husband asked her where and she pointed to the right where the appendix was, she came and went all the way to the hospital.

He asked a friend for help and he took them to the hospital.

They told me and I flew out of my class to meet them because my husband told me that he thought it was appendicitis since he had it and the symptoms were similar to what my daughter said.

When we arrived we filled out some forms and they made us wait, service is by order of arrival. There were many little ones crying and it seemed that they were coughing from bronchial tubes or fevers, that's what it seemed to me.

I can tell you that there were about 20 children there, waiting their turn, first they go through triage and depending on the symptoms they put a colored paper bracelet on you, serious, very serious, much more serious, something like that, that is if everything is organized and the people. we stayed from 11 am to 5 pm we were already tired, in a bad mood and hungry, for this reason Lorena's pain had gone away and I said where is the one with appendicitis??? hahahahaha, she was in pain but she wasn't here like early, she was hungry and I did give her a soda-type cookie that I had in my backpack, but it's still not food. For this I saw that they made two children pass before Lorena and I, as a good Peruvian mother, was going to go to claim, why did they pass before my daughter? That's what I thought, but guess what I was surprised that one seemed to break his arm or something like that, because he had it bent and was crying and the other one, luckily for me, vomited in front of me, not me, just close by. There I felt like complaining hahahaha because well, as I saw Lorena, she wasn't that bad, she got bad, yes, but she gradually got rid of it.

At 5 and a little later the doctor comes and attends to us, he speaks in French and we neither dad nor sweet potato understood hahahaha, my husband's friend helped us translate, he asked us the questions, we answered him, I examined it and when end, what was it??????

The girl had gas hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....

All day, the scare, not to mention that since we did not have Maladi insurance at that time they charged us 120 Cad apart for the doctor.

My daughter is the best and happiest, and I want to kill my husband, how is it possible that he confuses it with appendicitis???!!! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!!!!

What can I tell you about this experience, if it is not an emergency or going to the hospital.

Here if you want a private consultation it will be expensive and we are talking about 150 Cad and up.

For international students who have insurance, when you are calling to see where you can attend, they tell you how to do the paperwork to recover what the hospital is going to charge you. We did it that same week, we received the bill for 800 cad (Canadian dollars) after 2 months but the insurance sent us the check in my name for 700 cad after the process we did that same week.

There is no way they can stop doing that process because the bills arrive months later.

Questions?? leave them in the comments

Mascota de Peru a Quebec - Dog from Peru to Quebec
